Eddie had emailed me telling me that he and his girlfriend Faith were flying to Paris for vacation. Only they weren’t. They had a layover in Paris, but their end stop was actually in Vienna (something Faith didn’t find out until they landed in Paris), a city they both had wanted to see. They met through mutual friends and (if I recall correctly) they both were dating other people at the time. Given their friend’s close circles and a bit of time they both were soon back in touch with each other. Eddie confessed to me that he really liked Faith and when they both were at a Billy Joel concert he asked Faith to be his girlfriend while the song “Vienna” played in the background.
Jenn and I have known each other for ages. We went to the same church, worked at the same place, and had some fun slumber parties back in our day. So I was pretty much like a kid in a candy store when she told me that she and her fiancé, Zack, were both going to make a stop off in Vienna during their European excursion. Could. Not. Stop shaking like an excited Chihuahua.
Vienna is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. And a couple of weeks before spending their vacation in romantic Vienna, Habib contacted me telling me that he was going to ask his girlfriend Gaelle to marry him and that he wanted me to capture it on film. After a few days of going back forth via email, planning and plotting the best spot and time to capture it, we had nailed down all the details. Habib was going to take Gaelle to the opera, but before going, he was going to suggest a stroll through Volksgarten and then, unexpectedly, he was going to get down on one knee and pop the question (insert girly sighs here).
These two. If you ever doubt that love exists, just take a peek at a few of these images and your faith will be restored. Connie (who is an author, check out her highly rated book on Amazon here) and Danny contacted me for their engagement session and their wedding (June 11th! whoop whoop!) I could not have been more excited for their session because one, I love photographing two individuals who are madly in love, and two, they got style (just scroll down to the last image for absolute verification of this, seriously, they look like models). Plus the day of their scheduled engagement session was absolutely divine and it was at the incomparable Türkenschanzpark, which is one of Vienna's most beautiful parks.
Alex was a chef and Pamela was a waitress at a restaurant. She caught his eye, and she thought that he was nice. Fast forward a few years later, and a few countries later, and Alex got down on bended knee in a restaurant to ask Pamela to continue to be the love of his life for the rest of his life. She of course, said yes.
