FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO YOU SHOOT DIGITAL OR FILM?

I actually shoot both :) I started out on digital in 2012, but film stole my heart in 2014 and since then film has become pivotal to my business. There is a timelessness and feel to it that is so wonderful and unique. However, I think both film and digital have their strengths and their places in my workflow.

WHAT DOES A PORTRAIT SESSION ENTAIL?

Your session can be at an outdoor location, in your home, or both. Wherever we are, we’ll tell jokes, giggle, and talk about your favorite things. I love having fun with my clients, couples and families. I’m very hands-on and not afraid to get to know you and find ways to get you to laugh. That’s usually when I get the best shots!

WHAT IS IN INCLUDED WITH OUR SESSION?

Every portrait session comes with an online gallery hosting all of your edited images that are ready to download straight to your computer with a photography print release. If you want more detailed information regarding booking a portrait session, what is included in a portrait session, and my pricing, please read my portrait guide.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

First off, you don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe to look good in your photos. This is about capturing you as you are now. The best photos are ones we look back on while smiling and remembering how we were. If you’re being photographed in your home, simple, light colored clothing looks best. Barefoot? Even better. Want to involve food? You're basically my favourite client. For outdoor sessions, don’t try to match everyone together. It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. I always suggest layers/textures. So pick a few colors and try to get everyone on the same wavelength (coordination is key!). If you still need some guidance, I’ve put together a Pinterest board with lots of great examples. And if you still need help after that, contact me for information and I will gladly help!

WHEN WILL I GET MY IMAGES BACK?

Portrait session images are delivered via an online gallery within four to six weeks. Weddings are within six to eight weeks.

WHAT DAYS DO YOU TAKE APPOINTMENTS?

I have limited availability during the weekdays and thus I offer portrait session appointments on the weekends, either in the early morning around 8:30 (maybe even earlier if you would like to have your session in tourist spot!) or in the evening, about three hours before the sun sets.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE?

The spring, summer and fall month bookings fill up quickly, so it’s best to contact me at least two months in advance. For spring and winter months, at least one month is preferred. However, sometimes I’ll have unexpected openings, so please email anytime!

HOW SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

Simply let me know you would like to book a portrait session, what type of session (i.e. family portraits, engagement portraits, boudoir portraits, maternity portraits, etc.) you are looking for, and what dates work best for you through my contact page or email me at hello@michellemock.com. For wedding photography please send me your date, venue location, and budget, and I will send you my wedding packet with more information.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

I love to travel. I just renewed my passport and I’m always more than happy to travel for any destination sessions or weddings. For portrait sessions outside of Vienna, there is an additional fee. Contact me for details.

WHERE IS ALL YOUR WEDDING INFO?

Why it’s all wrapped up into one beautiful pdf, thanks for inquiring! Contact me so I can send it to you!
