Two weeks ago, to this very day, two of my very good friends said "I do" for forever at this amazing venue, Loft on the Lake. And I had the great pleasure of being there to see it all happen. Now all weddings are gorgeous and beautiful, but when close friends of yours get married and you go to their wedding...those kinds of weddings are different, a more personal, kind of gorgeous. You get to see all these intricate and intimate details that make up their special day and understand it. I was asked to be a bridesmaid by Liana and I couldn't have been happier to have stood by her side. She also asked if I would be willing, after the reception, to take some bride and groom portraits.
Um. Yes. You do not have to ask me twice.
However, after a late start, it worked out with the photographers, Codrean Photography, in such a way that they were able to stay after the reception and take some of the bride and groom portraits, while I kinda just tagged along (with their full permission, I would never have shot these otherwise, 'tis rude). So Michael and Liana were dragged to a nearby rooftop and boom. Magic happened. So much magic I found myself wishing I could have cloned myself so I could have been a bridesmaid and their photographer.
I mean check out that Chicago skyline in the background. And check out the way Michael looks at Liana. And look at Liana just oozing beauty (despite the 30 degree weather) with that bouquet you just want to eat up (shout out to the amazing Life in Bloom). I mean magic. That's what that is. Anyway I will stop yammering and let you soak up this ethereal magic. Cause that's what you're about to look at.
P.S. If want to enjoy more of this awesomeness, check out the hashtag #meettheneffs on Instagram. Oodles of good stuff there.
