Rathaus and Volksgarten in Vienna | Mother and Daughter Portraits

A long time ago, when I first moved to Vienna, the first job I got was as a kindergarten teacher. It was one of my favourite jobs. Some days were grueling, but, more often than not, it was very rewarding. It also was the best way to learn and practice my German, as well as learn more about Austrian culture. I had the pleasure of having Miss M as one of my students during my time at the kindergarten and when she moved back to the states with her mama a piece of my heart went with her.
However, one day I opened my email inbox and was absolutely delighted to see an email from her mom informing me that they were visiting Vienna and she wanted to have some photos taken while they were here. I was so so SO excited! It had been awhile since I had seen Miss M and though I knew I would be heartbroken with how much she had grown and matured I still wanted to set my eyes on her and give her one big hug (assuming she hadn’t outgrown hugs of course!). Thankfully, she still loved hugs and was as inquisitive and sassy as I remembered her to be. It is so incredible to see tiny humans growing up. It’s a small kind of magic in some ways and Miss M was no exception.
This is Miss M’s and her mama’s session in the heart of Vienna.
