A long time ago, when I first moved to Vienna, the first job I got was as a kindergarten teacher. It was one of my favourite jobs. Some days were grueling, but, more often than not, it was very rewarding. It also was the best way to learn and practice my German, as well as learn more about Austrian culture. I had the pleasure of having Miss M as one of my students during my time at the kindergarten and when she moved back to the states with her mama a piece of my heart went with her.
The days are getting longer and itβs beginning to warm up here in Vienna, but Iβm reminiscing back on one of my favourite winter family sessions. Kate reached out to me shortly after she and her husband Greg, and two boys, Conor and Ryan, and their super cute Papillon, Scout, moved to Vienna. She confessed it had been a few years since they had family photos taken and she wanted some new ones now that theyβve settled into Vienna.
Originally from Australia, the East family relocated to Vienna because Michael found an amazing job opportunity in Vienna that he just couldn't pass up. Naturally, he couldn't leave behind his beautiful wife and his adorable little girl, so he scooped up the two most important ladies in his life and moved to the City of Music. They had been living here for a few months when we had their autumn session in the heart of Burggarten. When I first laid eyes on this little family of three it was like watching one of those families you see in those advertisements walk off the page of a magazine. They're adorable, down-to-earth, fun-loving, easy to talk to, and better yet, fun to joke around with. Pretty much all my favourite things.
Autumn had just graced Vienna when the Horehleds booked their family session. They had been putting off getting family portraits but decided that Autumn in one of their favourite parks was the perfect place to have it. Laura's mom, Susan, was visiting from the States and jumped on in for a few portraits and their dog, Chewie, well...he ended up jumping in the lake!
Alethia and Dave's story spans not only time but various countries. They both went to Oxford where they met each other while pursuing their MBA. They settled back in the States where they then tied the knot on August 30th, 2014 (you can see their gorgeous wedding here on Michelle Lange Photography). And every year for their anniversary they plan a trip to a country where they spend time focusing on each other and exploring. Even after having welcoming their daughter Rose earlier this year they decided to still keep up the tradition and brought her along on their anniversary trip.
