They say Paris is the 'City of Love' but I'm pretty certain that Vienna could give it a run for it's money. I've heard stories from so many people telling me how they met in Vienna and the magic of Vienna made them fall in love. And Gabriela and Gerhard's story is no different. They met each other in Vienna and over the course of a few years built a wonderful life together. An integral part of their lives is a tiny little, magical, bubbling, joyful girl named Emma.
The Lichtenfelds moved from Chicago, Illinois to Austria after Alexandra got a job at an international school here in Vienna. And from the conversation we had, they have been loving it ever since their arrival. Kai, who is five years old, has settled into a kindergarten here and is just a rambunctious bundle of fun! We had fun running around and watching him do cartwheels (brace yourself Olympics of 2028, he's gonna take you by storm!)
JoΕΎica, who goes by Joy, recently started her business at En Joy. She had some professional head shots taken previously, but she was looking for more natural head shots for her website which is about to be launched very soon. So she contacted me during my summer mini sessions and asked if I could fit her in to take some natural, professional, and yet fun head shots. My answer: HECK YEAH!
Emma contacted me when I had my mini Summer sessions in June. She had moved here with her partner Rob and wanted to have a session capturing her family in Vienna. They're both originally from Manchester, England and have the most elegant accents in the history of ever. I don't know what it is about English accents but they are awesome. I feel like I'm speaking to a very refined person right before we're about to have tea. I know...sounds crazy, but I just love it.
British PopUp Wien hosted a tea tasting and a fashion show and I just had to capture it on film! Not only were they showcasing one of my favourite teas, Higher Living (their entire line of teas are organic), but they were also having a fashion show featuring Red Apple vintage inspired dresses. You couldn't have stopped me from bringing my camera (a 35mm Contax 139) to capture some of these girls wearing these dresses if you had tried.
