Eddie had emailed me telling me that he and his girlfriend Faith were flying to Paris for vacation. Read More
Only they weren’t. They had a layover in Paris, but their end stop was actually in Vienna (something Faith didn’t find out until they landed in Paris), a city they both had wanted to see. They met through mutual friends and (if I recall correctly) they both were dating other people at the time. Given their friend’s close circles and a bit of time they both were soon back in touch with each other. Eddie confessed to me that he really liked Faith and when they both were at a Billy Joel concert he asked Faith to be his girlfriend while the song “Vienna” played in the background.
I met Melinda through a blogging group when she launched her website on how to turn a space into a home. I was mesmerized by her website name and even more with her ideas and talent for taking a space and turning it into something beautiful. (Seriously, you must go check out her site and additionally, her ideas). I was even more delighted to meet her in person during her session. I didn't have to work hard at all to get her to smile; she laughed at practically everything I said and was so easy to photograph! Read More

First some back story; so I met Christina before both my feet even touched Austrian soil. I had posted a question in an online forum before I had moved to Vienna and she was one of the first people to respond. She was also one of the first people to invite me out to dinner when I got to Vienna. She's basically the first friend I had in Vienna. So I feel it's safe to say that she was my first girl crush I had here cause she was nice, helpful, and above all, caring. (How can you not crush on a person like that?) Our friendship was further solidified through an organization called Women of Vienna (this organization is a reoccurring theme in my life) and once I found out she also had some serious appreciation for Mexican food...well we're just friends for life now. #mexicanfoodloversunite
I just adore this family. My cheeks always hurt when I walk away from their session because I've been laughing so much. Fiona and Adam are so lively and cheerful and I just want to bottle their energy up and keep it for myself. For their spring session we went to Volksgarten because it's the perfect backdrop for a spring session. Every time I return there's more and more roses. Read More
Despite it being spring, it was a rather overcast, blustery, and chilly day for being the time of year when everything was supposed to be warming up. Nonetheless the roses were out in full display; I suspect they knew I was intending to use them as backdrops throughout the Laufert's portrait session (kudos to you roses, you performed beautifully).
